MICHAEL Jackson's personal doctor was charged over his death last night.
Dr Conrad Murray, 56, faces up to four years in jail if convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Murray pleaded not guilty during a hearing in Los Angeles. He was banned from prescribing or possessing anesthetics. Judge Keith L Schwartz said: "I do not want you sedating people."
Murray was later released from prison after posting £48,000 bail just a few hours after surrendering to cops.
Earlier, Jacko's brother Jermaine, 55, branded the charge "not enough".
He was at the court with mum Katherine, 79, dad Joe, 80, sister La Toya and brothers Randy and Tito.
The world's media had gathered to see Murray arrive at the courthouse at 9pm - 1pm local time.
He was flanked by cops but not handcuffed, a key point in the wrangling over his surrender that delayed the hearing over the weekend.
Special police guarded the court amid fears Murray could be attacked after Jacko fans protested nearby.
The full charge alleges Murray "did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson".
The star's family had hoped for a second-degree murder charge.
And Joe's lawyer Brian Oxman said: "This charge is a slap on the wrist.
"What he did was reckless. It was a disregard for human life."
The hearing followed a seven-month probe into Jackson's death aged 50 on June 25 last year.
Murray has admitted to cops he gave Jacko drugs including powerful sedative Propofol to help him sleep at his LA home the night before his death.
Meanwhile, the full coroner's report last night confirmed for the first time Jackson was killed by a Propofol overdose.
Authorities found an empty vial of the drug and Flumazenil - used to reverse the effects of sedatives - in his home, along with a broken syringe.
Near his bed was a closed bottle of urine. Propofol was even found in the star's EYEBALL.
Other drugs in his body were sedatives Lorazepam and Midazolam, anaesthetic Lidocaine and stimulant Ephedrine.
The report also confirmed Jackson was nearly bald - with a wig connected to his remaining hair.
His skin had light and "dark pigmented areas" caused by vitiligo and he weighed just 9st 10lbs.
Murray is due back in court on April 5. The case was moved to a down town criminal court in the city amid security concerns.
